JOSEPH J OBREITER 

 Joseph J. Obreiter, 79, of Lakehurst passed away January 17, 2015. Joseph spent 30 years as an electrician before retiring from PSEG , Linden. After his retirement, he worked part time at the Lakewood Country Club. Born in The Bronx, NY, he resided in Bayonne and Keansburg before moving to Lakehurst in 1990. Joseph served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958. He was an avid golfer and a staunch Yankee baseball fan.

He was predeceased by his daughter Veronica Kiemel in 2004; his brother Nicholas Obreiter in 1991; his sister Margaret Olsen in 2003. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years Janet; his sons Victor Obreiter of Keansburg; Anthony Obreiter of Keyport; his step-son Kenneth Van Pelt Jr. of Lakehurst; his step-daughters Kimberly Kunz and Constance Miller both of Lakehurst; his sisters Marie Kaufmann of South Seaville; Kathleen Schumski of Toms River; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and many nieces & nephews.

Viewing 5-8pm Thursday January 22nd at DeGraff Lakehurst Funeral Home, 119 Union Ave., Lakehurst. Interment Friday at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in his memory to the charity of your choice .
